Historic Mansion – 19th Century
Restoring this 1875 mansion in the imperial city of Petrópolis and offering hospitality with refinement and comfort in the mountain region of the state of Rio has always been Roberto Pinheiro’s and Jane Assis’ life-time project. The restoration started in 2005, with the aid of architect Gustavo Cotrim, bringing back to life this beautiful manor house where Princess Isabel, daughter of Emperor Don Pedro II, and her beloved husband, Gastão d’Orleans, Count d’Eu, were once upon a time hosted.
Located on Koeler Avenue, in the heart of Petrópolis’ noble quarters, this small palace mirrors the architecture and furnishings of the imperial city’s other historic monuments providing its guests and visitors refinement, comfort, culture and first-class gastronomy by Claudia Mascarenhas.
Solar do Império Hotel has 16 suites fully equipped with king-size bed, TV, DVD, temperature-control, guest-customized mini-bar, broad-band Internet. The leisure area offers a covered heated swimming-pool, dry and steam saunas, ofuro, and a massage area.
The team assisting guests and visitors are a highlight: a first-class service in harmony with the beauty of the facilities.
