In July 1999 a couple from São Paulo, architect Rogerio Valsani Sobrinho and his wife Rosane Maria Guim Valsani, engineer, acquired what they call a piece of paradise, the land of a former farm – SANTO HONOFRE – 6.28 acres of pasture and a pretty neat piece of RIO FORMOSO (1,500 meters).
During two years they have designed and built all the facilities of the hotel monitoring all the work and in late 2001 along with their children they left behind a whole urban life in Sao Paulo to manage what is now HOTEL SANTA ESMERALDA which was made to respect local landscape architecture and prioritizing the rustic style designing so a product for people seeking privacy, peace and nature.
