Águas do Treme Lake Resort is a hotel complex located in Inhaúma (MG), 83 km from Belo Horizonte, right in the cerrado woods of the state of Minas Gerais. The landscape design, having been created to enhance the local flora and fauna, harmonizes the 3 km2 (741 acres) of native vegetation with hospitality, leisure, and resting. The curious name of the Resort (meaning Waters from the Trembling) was taken from the springs of the old Treme dam, a locality of peat soil that trembled when stepped by the cattle the would go there for drinking from its waters.
The beautiful Spanish-style hotel is ornamented with works of art, starting with the furniture and pieces from the 18th century. Its 12 ample suites, facing either the lake or the hill, are all provided with access to the physical disabled, and are equipped with frigobar, telephone, air-conditioning, subscription TV, and Internet connection. Two of the suites have whirlpool. As an option, the Resort also offers two chalets that are ideal for groups or families.
The attractions are numerous: a 1,200 m² (12,900 square feet) swimming-pool, sauna with underwater passage and a wet bar, tennis courts, sand field for sports, trekking along live trail, bicycle and tricycle rides, horseback riding, and tours around the region. For the creative idleness, thematic kiosks with hammocks, stretching chairs, cascade, and bar service.
Children are amused by recreators and have for themselves a playground with trampolin, mini climbing wall, doll house, pedal boats, kid-train riding, a children’s ecologic circuit, children’s restaurant, infants changing facilities and nursery.
The Resort also has the largest sports fishing lake in Latin America. With a running track around it, the lake surface is 600,000 m2 (equivalent to almost 80 soccer fields), with over 110 tons of fish of diversified species. Professional equipment may be bought or rented, and monitors are available to the guests.
Gastronomy is one more motive for delight. Two restaurants, international cuisine with a touch and flavour of the regional spices, accompanied of a selected wine chart and a climatized wine cellar. The Pier Bar, located next to the tennis courts, offers appetizers and grilled food.
The Resort also offers diversified spaces for events and conferences. Among conveniences is the Day-Use option, which permits people to enjoy all the infrastructure of the complex during the day, with no need to stay overnight.
