The former seat of the Episcopal Palace, City of Princes (a dowry
from Dom Pedro I to the Prince of Joinville, François Ferdinand Phillipe
de Orleans, son of the king of France for marrying Princess Francisca
Carolina, sister of Emperor Dom Pedro II) was restored to house the
Anthurium Parque Hotel. The original façade is
from the beginning of the
last century and ornamentation with features of barroque Mineiro in the
neo-colonial style unites history and culture with comfort of modern
hospitality.
Situated in the central region of the largest city in
Santa Catarina,
the Anthurium offers 46 apartments thoughtfully decorated in three
guests´ categories, all equipped with cable TV and wireless internet. The
highlight goes to the suites with whirlpool
baths.
The name of the hotel comes from the flower Anthurium and from the title
of “City of Flowers” conferred by the then President, Afonso Pena.
These are present in their gardens beautifying every detail of the Hotel.
Several fruit trees compose this small bush which surrounds the
swimming pool. With this view, the guests can savour the delicious, home-made
breakfast on the climatized Bistro Veranda, where on winter nights a
Fondue Festival is offered, renowned throughout beautiful Santa
Catarina.
